Become a better listener with online games

It is not uncommon for children and adults with hearing loss to use listening exercises to strengthen their skills once they receive proper amplification or tools used to supplement hearing capabilities like hearing aids or cochlear implants for example. A Speech-Language Therapist or a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist may advise a variety of ways to strengthen their skills for the classroom, work, telephone and more. Here are some ideas for children to work on their listening skills all by themselves with just a computer and some free online games.

Tongue Twisters-with sound and print, older children and teens can listen and repeat these tongue twisters

Listening Games-a variety of games like mazes where you listen for the word to know where you need to click to advance to the end

Fun Listening Games for Kids-these games are for younger children (4-8) and includes everything from listening to a mixed up story and putting it in correct order to identifying unseen sounds

Songs, Reading, Spelling-these online games from Starfall contain a variety of ways to strengthen listening skills

There are lots of games online that can strengthen listening skills for children with hearing loss or those with average hearing. Try them out and see for yourself, you may become a better listener.
