Toyota HighLander 2011

Friday, January 14, 2011
The 2011 Toyota Highlander model is the second generation and is due in showrooms in Fall of 2010 and will bring a few changes to its two available trim levels but no major redesign is expected on the Highlander until 2014 or 2015.

The 2011 Highlander will continue to offer the choices of V-4 and V-6 engines as well as the popular hybrid teamed with a V-6. The engine will generate 270 horsepower in the V-6 3.5-liter engine and be either a front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. The hybrid will be comparable, also delivering 270 horsepower with its 3.3-liter V6- engine that works in tandem with two electric motors.

The interior of the Toyota Highlander is designed to seat up to seven passengers, but the third row seating is very small and designed for children primarily. The Base, Sport and Limited models will be expected to make their debut and reprise the comfortable interiors that have been seen on the Highlander since its inception.

The 2011 model year will bring a redesigned front fascia that shows a more bold design. The changes include the headlights, which now offer a sharper look , the grille, which comes with two horizontal lines instead of three and the front bumper. This offers a more sophisticated design that also manages to give the car a more rugged appearance and houses new fog lamps.

In addition to that, the 2011 Toyota Highlander is also expected to receive a hybrid version that will follow the current eco trend of the market. We will have to wait for Toyota to release official specs of the vehicle in order to verify the info.
